You’re probably wondering who we are, where we came from. The first thing you should do is read the FAQ and the About Us sections, to get a flavour of the posts on the newsgroup. No, all of it, go on, come back when you’ve finished.

Not like Usenet, eh?

F1NGers uses a username and password system – but you only have to enter this whenever you set up the account on your PC (like after buying a new computer, or if you want to set up the NG at work as well as home). You do NOT need to enter it every time you connect.

Still interested in joining us? Well okay then, here’s what you do. Just fill in the required details below and we’ll get back to you with your login credentials and other relevant details.

Email f1ngers.membership=at=gmail=dot=com if you haven’t heard back from us after 48 hours.

Why do we want this? We will take the first two letters of each name and add it to the code of your country, to create your username. Be assured that we will only use this information to create the username, and for no other purpose. You will also receive an 8 character randomly-generated password.

After a day or so (often sooner), we will get back to you with your username and password. Simply follow the instructions given in the email, and you’ll be reading the newsgroup in no time.

It really is that simple. If you get stuck we have walkthrough guides for Outlook Express and Netscape Navigator (which may also apply to Mozilla).

Having trouble getting in?
If you find yourself stuck, email us and we’ll try and get things sorted out.

Lost your username and password?
If the answer is no, or you only have one of these things, emailf1ngers.membership=at=gmail=dot=com and ask for your credentials to be resent. Please give us your name and/or NG handle, especially if you don’t post very often, because we may not recognise you or you may end up with a second account!

Double-check to make sure there are no spelling errors, and that no spaces got caught up in a copy and paste, as they often do. Also try a lower case ‘L’ instead of any ‘1’s, and vice versa. Also be aware that it is case sensitive, you must use lower case only.

If none of these steps helps, contact us and we’ll try another password.

We hope to see you soon!
